Our Mission
To provide volunteer services that enhance the quality of healthcare of people living on the Sunshine Coast. To raise funds and encourage community support of the hospital and related healthcare programs.
One of the programs that the SC Healthcare Auxiliary gives to annually is the Compassionate Fund.The SCHA is dedicated to this fund and the service it provides. Our Granting Program is open to Applications The SCHA granting program provides successful applicants with funding up to $10,000 and this can include an amount of up to 10% for administration costs associated with undertaking a project. Driftwood Players Theatre Group began the practice of giving back to the Sunshine Coast community about 3 years ago by donating a particular night's proceeds to a chosen charity. Proceeds from the Fabulous November 27th Fall Bazaar in Gibsons Representatives from SCHA presented a cheque for $9,500 to Foundry Sunshine Coast, They received a tour of the site that will be developed, plus a stop in the youth space where they road-tested the beanbags. The Famous Thrift Store Christmas Sale Nov 12-15 was a big success raising over $18,118.61 over its 4 day run. On Nov 24 just under 200 SCHA volunteers gathered at the Sechelt Band Hall to celebrate Auxiliary members. Anne Selder led the speeches which included thank yous from both the Hospital Board and Squamish Hospital Foundation. Service Pins were awarded in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 year increments and one special guest, Betty Laidlaw received a 60 year pin. [...]
