The day started with sunshine as the Auxiliary bus left Trail Bay Mall for it’s trek to Pender Harbor. Our auxiliary member Anne, did an excellent job driving 5 volunteers to Pender Harbor.

Another 15 auxiliary volunteers from around the Coast joined us in Pender Harbor to decorate the bus in Mardi Gras theme with tinsel, posters and signs, ourselves with strings of beads, top hats and pictures. Daniel and his lovely passenger topped it off with his Polaris vehicle all decked out and we acquired a 2nd place prize!

The parade was a great fun with folks of all ages lining both sides of the street. Thanks to Mary for energetically organizing participation, our beads and recycled conference hats were gifted to those happily cheering us along while we also thanked them for their support.

The atmosphere was lively. The sunshine and music added to the fun happenings after the parade.

As another volunteer noted the Canada Day parade is another big parade. Giving us all a chance to celebrate our communities and our country. So calling again for auxiliary volunteers to come join in the excitement, fun and camaraderie on Wednesday July 1 for the Canada Day parade.
