On Saturday, May 16 a new Fundraising Event was held in front of the Thrift Store. The Thrift Store and the Farmer’s Market made for a lot of foot traffic.
It turned out to be a great success and even the weather cooperated. A small but mighty army of volunteers advertised, set up tables and signs, hauled plants and other items, arranged everything, sold almost all of our wares and helped clean up after. Thank you so much to these individuals and others who donated items. And thank you to Saturday’s Thrift Store volunteers who made us feel welcome. We could not have done this without everyone involved.
Not only did we have over 300 plants for sale (perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetable starts, succulents, fruit such as rhubarb and raspberries, houseplants and plant arrangements) but also plant pots, seed packets, hanging basket forms, leftover baking and crafts from the Mother’s Day Sale.
Many enthusiastic shoppers showed up to result in $1794.70 in sales!
We hope that this success is the beginning of a new event. Both volunteers and shoppers really enjoyed the sale, it made for a fun and boisterous time! It would be nice to have even more auxiliary members join in on the event and others like it in the future! Everyone is welcome.
