Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary
Mature Student Bursary ($2,000)

Capilano University, Sechelt Campus
Health Care Assistant Program

Intent

The purpose of the bursary will be to support eligible candidates who are returning to school as a career change and who would otherwise face financial hardship in doing so.

Eligibility

Candidates will be residents of the Sunshine Coast for a minimum of one year, be a minimum 25 years of age as of first day of classes and will not have been registered in a full-time school program for a minimum of five years. They must meet all other eligibility requirements as set out for the course by the University.

Process

Eligible candidates will submit a completed application form (to be found on the SCHA website under Bursaries) to the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary, Education Committee, Box 917, Sechelt, BC. The application must be accompanied by verification of acceptance into the program by the University.

The Education Committee will consider all applications received by the deadline (to be determined) and provide their recommendations to the SCHA Executive. Should there be more than one eligible candidate, the Executive can recommend awarding multiple bursaries depending on budget available.

The bursary will be paid directly to the University once the student is registered.
