To provide volunteer services that enhance the quality of healthcare of people living on the Sunshine Coast. To raise funds and encourage community support of the hospital and related healthcare programs.
The Halfmoon Bay branch held their Christmas lunch on Dec 10th at the Blue Ocean Golf Course. A brief meeting was followed by the presentation of 10 and 15 year service pins and the installation of the new executive by Carole Murray. The Hopkins branch held their Christmas luncheon at the Gibsons Legion, on December 5th.
On December 3rd representatives from all branches gathered at the hospital to create a little Christmas cheer by decorating Trees in all areas of the hospital. If you are at the hospital, check out all their efforts. There are seven in total including one in the new lobby, lovingly created by Amanda Offers.
On December 1st, the Halfmoon Bay branch was at the Trail Bay Mall with lots of baking. Festive tins brimming with an assortment of cookies and those famous "Apple Pies". Everything was gone before 2pm!
On December 1st and 2nd, the Pender Harbour branch participated in the Serendipity Christmas Fair at Madeira Park Community Hall. All the ladies had been very busy baking and filling cookie tins with Goodies! The sale was very successful and included a little raffle with great prizes.
On Monday, November 26th, 2018, the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary held their AGM at the Sechelt Legion. There were 99 members in attendance. The 2018 Financial Statements were presented and accepted and the new slate of executive officers approved and installed. Nine members of the Halfmoon Branch worked hard on November 23 to make up the 100 apple pie orders that had been gathered from the community due to our ongoing reputation for Fabulous Apple Pies. Saturday November 17th saw the SIB hall packed with bargains for the Thrift Store annual Christmas Sale. When the doors opened at 9am there was a crowd of eager shoppers. Decorations, decor and some brand new gift items filled shopping baskets. A steady stream of customers continued all day as hard working volunteers restocked the tables and assisted shoppers. On Wednesday November 14th, the Pender Harbour branch held its annual Potluck lunch after their meeting.
