On Monday, November 26th, 2018, the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary held their AGM at the Sechelt Legion.
There were 99 members in attendance. The 2018 Financial Statements were presented and accepted and the new slate of executive officers approved and installed. Special guests Marge Anderson, President of BCAHA, Dave Hawkins, President of the Sechelt Hospital Foundation, and Lauren Tindall, Director of the Sechelt Hospital all updated us on future plans. Lauren especially thanked the Auxiliary for the more than $900,000 pledged to VCH services on the coast this year. We took a moment of silence to remember those members who are no longer with us. Our Long Service Pins were presented to members who have served 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and yes, 60 years. Nine members, nominated by their branch or volunteer area, were presented with Outstanding Service pins. Two local businesses received a Special Service Award for supporting our work with their skill and expertise. Plaques were presented to Dwayne Perrett and Melissa Paz of Sechelt Sign and Printing and to Guy Dawkins of Suncoast Lock and Trophy. Marge Anderson presented Gayle Bennett with a BCAHA Lifetime Membership Award. Carole Murray was thanked for her service as President over the past two and a half years and was presented with Lifetime Membership in the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary. The year end Newsletter, that was circulated to everyone in attendance, is available on our website. The revised Policies and Procedures were distributed to all branches and committees and are readily available to reference.
